As we approach February online we are almost certain that this will probably continue until the end of term in April. However we are putting everything into place to give our students and others, who would like to join, the experience of fun interactive West End workshops taken by industry leading actors and performers.
This February we have already got a great line-up secured. We are pleased to announce that actress and performer Philippa Stefani who appeared in the film Mamma Mia! will be delivering a ‘Mamma Mia’ workshop. Philippa has graced the stage in an assortment of shows including ‘Wicked’, ‘Matilda’, ‘Ren’t and recently before the pandemic, was playing leading role as Gloria Estefan in the musical “Get on your Feet”.
We are also lucky to have actor Phil Mennell who played the prince in ‘Aladdin’ and has appeared in a variety of West End shows such as ‘The Body Guard’, ‘Happy Days’ and ‘We Will Rock You’. A whole host of professional performers are excited to jump online and teach all the students. We even have Shrek from the Musical coming along to deliver a fun full on acting workshop.
Our Sting team will also be with us offering their usual energetic, professional classes. So far during Covid our students have been very lucky to receive professional direction from lots of different professionals, including Great Britons top Acro coach Amal Fawzi, ‘Thriller’ star Jamal Crawford, ‘Cats The Musical’ dancer Danielle Cato and even ‘Eastenders’ star Jonny Labey. We are doing everything we can to keep everyone smiling and connected. Although it has not been quite the same as training face to face, it has been a great experience to learn from other industry professionals who would usually, either be in a show on a Saturday afternoon coaching, directing or on set filming. Its great to support the performers from the world of stage and film, and equally incredible to see our students learn choreograph, acting skills and techniques which will be life skills to take forward.
We are also continuing our online teaching each Wednesday partnering Essex Cares, with a link going out to all the Essex hubs for those learners with additional needs. The hubs reach adult learners in Harlow, Saffron Walden, Loughton, Epping, and Chelmsford. We are getting to know some wonderful characters and its becoming the highlight of our week. Each week learners take part in fitness classes with Lisa & Tam and learn a different routine from all genres of music and musicals.
If anyone would like to join us each Saturday online 10am -12pm and join in with our industry professional training for ages 7-16 please do not hesitate to contact us.
If you are, or know of a vulnerable adult that would enjoy weekly fitness and dance classes every Wednesday please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
